‘One-time, big-time’ animal rescue pushed

/ 05:24 AM January 31, 2020

An animal welfare group on Thursday called for a one-time, big-time operation to rescue the remaining animals on Taal’s Volcano Island.

Heidi Caguioa of Animal Rescue Inc. said that if Taal Volcano had been declared a No Man’s Land, it should also be declared a No Animal’s Land.

By removing these animals, government would be able to prevent people from returning to the island to care for them, Caguioa said. —Leila B. Salaverria
