Government agencies will begin inspecting gas stations, tank trucks and depots in the country in the middle of February to check if their fuel is marked to indicate payment of proper taxes. Those caught with unmarked fuel would face penalties, Customs Assistant Commissioner Vincent Maronilla said on Wednesday. The Bureau of Customs official said the fuel marking program, along with other reforms in the agency, is expected to help the BOC meet its target collection of P731 billion for the year. —Leila B.
