Ex-Cebu mayor pleads guilty to lesser offense

The Sandiganbayan Seventh Division has accepted the plea bargain of former Carcar, Cebu Mayor Mario Patricio Paraz Barcenas who was originally charged with graft.

Barcenas pleaded guilty to the lesser offense of Failure of Accountable Officer to Render Accounts, in connection to his 2011 fertilizer fund scam case. —Patricia Denise M. Chiu
