MANILA, Philippines — Passengers of the Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3) were met with long queues on Monday morning as the train system experienced a technical glitch in one of its stations.
The MRT-3 management said that at 8:29 a.m., the train system’s overhead catenary system (OCS) encountered a “technical problem” at the southbound portion of the Cubao station.
The OCS is used to transmit electrical energy to the trains, the management explained.
It added that the issue was immediately coordinated with MRT-3’s OCS team, thus it was resolved at 8:48 a.m.
Passengers waiting for trains have piled up at the Shaw Boulevard station.
“We apologize for the inconvenience,” the MRT-3 management said.
