Robbers broke into the house of singer Imelda Papin in Quezon City before dawn on Monday and carted away cash and valuables worth P500,000, police said.
Superintendent Froilan Uy, Quezon City Police District station 5 commandeer, said the singer was not around when the suspects broke into the house, but her daughter and secretary were in the house sleeping.
He said at least six people, including a security guard, were in the house when the burglary took place between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m.
Officer on case, Senior Police Officer 1 Rolyn Francisco, said the house security guard claimed he fell asleep and failed to detect the robbery.
Investigation showed the robbers entered the house by destroying the grill for an unused air-conditioning unit of one room of the house.—Nancy Carvajal
