CITY OF SAN FERNANDO—Two suspected members of a robbery gang were killed by police in a gunfight in Candaba, Pampanga, on Monday, police said.
A report from the Pampanga police said lawmen pursued Romeo Guinto and Joey de la Cruz as they sped through a checkpoint in Barangay Pasig on board their motorcycles at about 11 a.m.
Policemen caught up with them in Purok 6 in Barangay Pansinao when they fell off the portion of the Arnedo Dike there. Guinto and De la Cruz, both of Arayat town, died while being taken to Lacquios District Hospital.
Police tagged the two as behind at least 12 incidents of murder, robbery, extortion, illegal drugs trade and gun-for-hire operations in the province. Tonette Orejas, Inquirer Central Luzon
