ILOILO CITY—A boat bound for Bacolod City was delayed after it grazed the anchor of a dredger of the Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) at the Iloilo wharf on Dec. 29.

No injuries were reported and the Weesam fast craft continued its trip later, Coast Guard Iloilo assistant station commander Venerando Celiz said.

Celiz said the 252-seater boat left the port around 4:45 p.m. when it figured in the accident at 5 p.m. It incurred a 5-inch tear on its pilot house and had to return to port for an assessment of the damage.

The PPA has been undertaking dredging operations at the wharf as part of rehabilitation efforts in the Iloilo River. Nestor P. Burgos Jr., Inquirer Visayas
