NCRPO to go after cops playing golf during office hours

/ 05:10 AM January 25, 2020

The National Capital Regional Police Office (NCRPO) on Friday vowed to go after police officers playing golf on weekdays following the relief of three policemen who were found in fairways in Cebu City.

Two of the former policemen—Police Col. Dennis Artil and Lt. Col. Glenn Mayam—used to report to now NCRPO chief, Brig. Gen. Debold Sinas, himself a golf enthusiast when he was still Negros regional chief. Artil, Mayam and Lt. Col. Richard Bad-ang were ordered relieved by newly anointed Philippine National Police chief Gen. Archie Gamboa after they were caught playing golf during office hours.

They were immediately subjected to investigation for possible grave misconduct. Sinas also urged the public to take photos of cops playing golf or even just lugging around golf bags during duty. “Just send those pictures and they would automatically be relieved,” Sinas said. —Krixia Subingsubing
