Thai woman yields P20M shabu in Makati City

MANILA, Philippines — Agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) seized P20.4 million worth of suspected crystal meth or shabu from a Thai woman in a buy-bust operation inside a hotel in Barangay Palanan, Makati City.

An initial report from PDEA said the three kilograms of suspected illegal drugs were seized from Kanokrat Jampangoen at about 1 p.m. Thursday.

The suspect is facing charges for possession and selling of illegal drugs as provided by the Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Also on Thursday, authorities arrested another Thai woman identified as Narumon Sukkato in another buy-bust operation in a restaurant in Pasay City.
