DID YOU KNOW (Philippine Sports Commission)

Republic Act 6847, signed on Jan. 24, 1990 by then President Corazon Aquino, established the Philippine Sports Commission. One of its forerunners was the Philippine Amateur Athletic Federation established in 1911 when the country was still under American rule. The commission’s administrative building is located at the Rizal Memorial Complex on Pablo Ocampo Sr. Street in Malate, Manila. —Marielle Medina, Inquirer Research
