Duterte to attend bus firm owner’s birthday bash in Bacolod

BACOLOD CITY –– President Rodrigo Duterte is expected to attend the 86th birthday celebration of Olivia Yanson, whose family owns the biggest bus company in the country.

The celebration will be held at the L’Fisher Hotel in Bacolod on Thursday, January 23.

Yanson, during a pre-birthday celebration at her beach house in Talisay City, Negros Occidental, said the Presidential Security Group already arrived on Wednesday.

“The President wants me to sit at his table. We will have our picture taken together,” she said.

The president has been a frequent visitor of the Yansons and had also previously attended the birthday celebrations of the matriarch.

The president, who sings often, likes to do so during his visits, Yanson said, adding that his favorite song is “Ikaw.”

Yanson said a lot of senators were also expected at her birthday, including Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go, Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa, and Imee Marcos.

“Every senator will probably be there,” she said.

Her birthday wish is to be loving always, said Yanson, who flashed the Korean heart gesture by crossing her thumb and index finger.

“I will spend my whole life in charity work,” Yanson said. This is through her OVY Foundation.

She is committed to helping the poor until the end of her life, she added.
