BATANGAS, Philippines — The common law wife of President Rodrigo Duterte, Cielito “Honeylet” Avanceña, on Wednesday led a relief mission organized by members of the Filipino Chinese community to aid those displaced by the Taal Volcano eruption.

Avanceña led the distribution of bags filled with relief goods, including tikoy in celebration of the upcoming Chinese New Year on Saturday.

She was also seen talking to some of the evacuees.

The sports complex currently serves as a evacuation center for around 2,200 displaced individuals as of 5 a.m. Tuesday, records from the Batangas Public Infomation Office showed.

The relief mission was organized by the Federation of Filipino-Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (FFCCIII).
