CITY OF MALOLOS–Motorists carrying donations to victims of Taal volcano eruption must coordinate with the North Luzon Expressway (NLEx) Corp. ahead of their planned trip to avail themselves of free toll.

The NLEx Corp. Communications Office earlier waived toll for the donors to allow the smooth flow of donations headed for Batangas and Cavite.

But officials of NLEx Corp. on Tuesday (Jan. 21) asked motorists to make an advance request for the waived fee with the toll management for easy
and faster transaction at toll gates.

Another toll road operator, San Miguel Corp., announced that private vehicles transporting relief goods to Taal evacuees will be given free single
exit passes at the Southern Luzon Expressway (SLEx) starting Tuesday.

Motorists who will bring donations through Southern Tagalog Arterial Road (STAR) will also be given free pass.

These donors are advised to stop at the following inspection sites: SLEx Southbound (Petron Silangan/KM 44, Mayapa Entry, Batino Entry, Calamba/Real Entry); STAR Southbound location (Sto. Tomas Entry); and all STAR Northbound entry locations (Batangas, Ibaan, Lipa, Toribio,
Malvar, and Tanauan).

The free passes should be handed over to cash lanes at toll gates where the vehicles will be exiting.

“This is part of our wide-ranging efforts across the San Miguel Group to help our countrymen, through our own relief operations, and by supporting and enabling others who also want to help,” said SMC president Ramon S. Ang in a statement.
