Gamboa to cops: Simplify work for ‘more responsive’ police force
MANILA, Philippines — Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Gen. Archie Gamboa is seeking to establish a “more responsive” police force by ordering police officers to “simplify” their work methods.
“Work simplification is the conscious seeking of the simplest, easiest, and quickest method of doing work. We should accomplish more tasks within a given amount of time,” Gamboa said in a speech on Tuesday, addressing policemen.
“In pursuing work simplification, I will fully encourage for a streamlined process flow,” he added.
Among the initiatives, he proposed to achieve this is the reduction of the period for the summary hearing process from 60 days to 15 days to solve administrative cases.
He also proposed expediting the implementation of the PMP Information and Communications Technology master plan to “deliver effective and efficient crime prevention and crime solution services.”
“[This] will serve as a guide towards harmonizing the use of technology towards the realization of Secured, Mobile, AI-driven, Real-time Technology-driven (SMART) policing,” Gamboa said.
