IN CELEBRATION of its fifth year anniversary, Sonshine dyAR 765 Radio will hold a three-category running event dubbed the 1st Cebu Sonshine Run on July 3 starting at the Ayala Center Cebu’s The Terraces.
dyAR 765 station manager Cherry Ilaw, race director Joel Baring and William Valencia officially launched the event at the Golden Cowrie Restaurant in Lahug yesterday.
They said the race is held for the benefit of the Children’s Joy Foundation, which is a non-government organization being aided by dyAR 765. Children’s Joy Foundation is located in Nasipit, Talamban, Cebu City.
The running event will have 3-, 6- and 12-kilometer distances.
Joining the organizing crew yesterday were top runners Mary Joy Tabal and John Philip Duenas.
Tabal said she is using this running event as her tune-up for her second bid to qualify for the Philippine Team this August together with Duenas.
Registration fee for 3k and 6k is pegged at P250 while P350 is set for the 12k category. Winners will get cash prizes, watches and medals.
Registration Centers are at the RUNNR and ROX in Ayala, Colombia at SM City Cebu North Wing, Holiday Gym and Spa, and the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) office at the Cebu City Sports Center (CCSC). /CORRESPONDENT DALE G. ROSAL
