Manufacturer readies 400,000 N95 masks

MANILA, Philippines — The country’s sole manufacturer of medical masks will supply 400,000 additional N95 face masks next week, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) said on Monday, promising stable prices.

Medtecs International Corp. Ltd. will also have two million N88 surgical masks available and ready for disposal, which are being produced by their plant in Bataan.

The DTI said Medtecs has so far donated 12,000 N95 face masks and 500,000 N88 surgical masks for those affected by the Taal Volcano eruption.

Medtecs chief financial officer and director Wilfrido Rodriguez also said they have not increased prices of their FFP2-N95 face masks which they were selling for P60 via their hotline number (632) 8817-9000.—Roy Stephen C. Canivel
