Fire destroys 5 hectares of forest in Benguet

MANILA, Philippines — A fire that broke out in Bokod, Benguet has so far consumed five hectares of forest area.

According to a report from Atok Fire Station, the fire started Saturday morning at Brgy. Amboklao in Bokod and was declared fire out at 9:20 p.m the next day.

However, the fire reignited at 7:45 a.m. Monday and a small fire continues to raze the area.

“The fire scene is too far away as there are no access roads leading to it,” the report said.

Atok Fire Station assured it continues to monitor the situation to ensure that the residential areas will not be affected.
