Magic post 4th victory

ORLANDO, Florida  — Ryan Anderson scored 24 points and led a fourth-quarter rally as the Orlando Magic beat Toronto 102-96 on Sunday night.

The Magic trailed by as many as 16 points, but went on a 16-0 run in the final period. Orlando shot 4 for 5 on 3-pointers during the burst, with Anderson making two of them, as the Magic took a 94-88 lead with 3:05 left.

Dwight Howard had 19 points and 15 rebounds for the Magic, who have won four straight since a season-opening loss.

CELTICS 94, WIZARDS 86

At Washington, Rajon Rondo had 18 points, 14 assists and 11 rebounds while Kevin Garnett had 24 points and nine rebounds to lead Boston over the winless Wizards.

The victory was the Celtics’ second straight after losing their first three. Washington is 0-4.

HEAT 129, BOBCATS 90

At Miami, Chris Bosh scored 20 of his 24 points in the first half as the Heat improved to 5-0 for the first time in franchise history.

The 129 points is the most scored by any NBA team so far this season and the 39-point victory margin matched the third-largest in Heat history. Dwyane Wade scored 22 points and LeBron James and Mario Chalmers each scored 16 for the Heat, who ran out to an 18-point lead after one quarter and never trailed.

CAVALIERS 98, NETS 82

At Cleveland, Antawn Jamison scored 23 points and the Cavaliers made 16 3-pointers in a win over New Jersey.

Kyrie Irving, the No. 1 pick in the draft, had 13 points, four assists and four rebounds for Cleveland (2-2).

Deron Williams led New Jersey (1-4) with 16 points. MAVERICKS 99, TIMBERWOLVES 82

At Minneapolis, Kevin Love had 25 points and 17 rebounds and hit two important 3-pointers in the fourth quarter to help the Timberwolves end an 18-game losing streak dating deep into last season.

The young Wolves closed the game with a 15-0 run. They lost the last 15 games of last season and the first three of this year, meaning it’s been 295 days since the franchise’s last victory.

BULLS 104, GRIZZLIES 64

At Chicago, Carlos Boozer scored 17 points and grabbed 11 rebounds as the Bulls easily won their home opener.

Derrick Rose finished with 16 points after a slow start. Ronnie Brewer scored 17 with Richard Hamilton a late scratch because of a groin injury. But with Boozer dominating, the Bulls simply put this one away early.

NUGGETS 99, LAKERS 90

At Denver, Danilo Gallinari scored 20 points and Ty Lawson had 17 points and 10 assists to help the Nuggets beat the Lakers.

Nene had 13 points for the Nuggets, who avenged a three-point loss to the Lakers in Los Angeles less than 24 hours earlier.

Pau Gasol had 20 points and 11 rebounds and Andrew Bynum had 18 points and 16 rebounds for the Lakers. Kobe Bryant scored 16 points on 6-of-28 shooting.

KINGS 96, HORNETS 80

At Sacramento, Tyreke Evans had 27 points and Marcus Thornton scored 25 for the Kings in a victory over New Orleans.

Playing without DeMarcus Cousins, who demanded a trade prior to the game and was told by coach Paul Westphal to stay home, the Kings ended a three game skid. Cousins was among several players who expressed frustration with the team’s poor play after a 114-92 loss to the New York Knicks on Saturday.

Tervor Ariza had 17 points for the Hornets, who have dropped two straight after opening the season with a pair of victories.
