Pandacan roads to be closed on Jan. 18 for ‘Buling-Buling Festival’

MANILA, Philippines — Several roads in Pandacan, Manila will be closed to vehicular traffic on Saturday, Jan. 18, to give way for the celebration of the “Buling-Buling Festival.”

In an advisory on Friday, the Manila City government said the route of the parade will start at Sto. Niño Parish Church (patio) to Teodoro San Luis to Hilom to Narciso to Jesus Industria to Hilom to Labores and will end at Sto. Niño Parish Church (patio).

Thus the following roads will be closed starting 11 a.m.:

-Jesus St./Nagtahan

-East Zamora/Pres. Quirino

-Pedro Gil St./Carreon St.

-Beata/Laura

The Manila City government also announced that there will also be a rerouting of vehicles during the festival.

-Vehicles meaning to use the stretch of Jesus St. coming from Mabini Bridge (Nagtahan) shall go straight to Pres. Quirino to point of destination

-All vehicles using Zamora Bridge coming from Valenzuela St. (Sta. Mesa area going to Pandaca) shall turn left to Carreon St., right to Pedro Gil St., straight to Quirino Ave. to point of destination

-Vehicles intending to use the stretch of Zamora shall go straight to Pres. Quirino to point of destination

-All vehicles coming from Pedro Gil meaning to use Carreon St. shall go straight to Pres. Quirino Ave. to point of destination

-All vehicles meaning to ply Beata St. going to Palumpong and Laura St. shall use Zamora Bridge to Sta. Mesa to point of destination

Carreon St. corner Tomas Claudio will be on “stop-and-go” traffic scheme during the parade, the Manila government said.

It added that the closing and opening of affected roads are subject to change as it will be based on the actual traffic situation.
