3.5 magnitude quake shakes Northern Samar town

TACLOBAN CITY –– A 3.5 magnitude quake shook the town of Palapag in Northern Samar province on Friday morning.

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Philvocs) said the quake was felt in the town at 6:47 a.m. and has a depth of 24 km.

The agency said that the morning quake was of tectonic origin.

It added that they didn’t expect any possible aftershocks as no damage was reported due to the tremor./lzb
