No storm, LPA to affect PH weather in coming days

MANILA, Philippines – No major weather disturbance is expected to affect the Philippines in the next two to five days, the state weather bureau said on Thursday.

However, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) also said that the northeast monsoon or Amihan would continue to bring cloudy skies and occasional rain showers in the eastern parts of the country.

“Magandang balita dahil wala po tayong namo-monitor na sama ng panahon o bagyo na maaaring maka-apekto sa susunod na dalawa o limang araw.  Patuloy nga lamang na umiiral itong northeast monsoon o Amihan dito sa malaking bahagi ng Luzon,” weather specialist Ana Clauren said.

(Good news because we have not monitored any weather disturbance or storms that may affect the country in the next two to five days.  But the northeast monsoon or Amihan prevails over a big part of Luzon.)

Areas in the Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley, Aurora and Quezon provinces and the Bicol Region would experience monsoon rains, while rains are expected in Cavite and Batangas towns due to the Taal Volcano’s activity.

Metro Manila, the rest of Luzon and Mindanao would experience fair weather except for sporadic rain showers in the afternoon or nighttime.  Cloudy skies may also prevail over the Visayas due to Amihan.
