Dump truck catches fire in Manila

MANILA, Philippines — A dump truck caught fire while traversing the southbound lane of Roxas Boulevard at the corner of Quirino Avenue in Malate, Manila early Thursday morning.

According to the Manila Police District Station 9 (Malate Police ), the HOWO Dump Truck was being driven by a certain Joel Ronquillo when its engine suddenly “became wild and started to burn.”

The fire quickly spread out fast, according to police, prompting Ronquillo and his helper to quickly get out of the truck.

Firefighters from the Manila Bureau of Fire Protection immediately responded to the scene and contained the fire at 2:03 a.m.

No one was injured from the incident, the Manila Bureau of Fire Protection said.
