MANILA, Philippines — Forty-four percent of Filipinos are satisfied with Vice President Leni Robredo’s abbreviated stint as co-chairperson of the Inter-Agency Committee on Anti-Illegal Drugs (ICAD), a Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey showed.
Of the 1,200 adults surveyed from December 13 to 16, 2019, the survey released Wednesday showed 14 percent were very satisfied and 30 percent were somewhat satisfied with her performance.
Meanwhile, the survey also showed 26% were dissatisfied with 15% somewhat satisfied and 11% very dissatisfied and 30% were undecided.
This gives Robredo a +18 net satisfaction which is classified by SWS as moderate.
At least 49 percent of those surveyed agree that Robredo’s removal as ICAD co-chairperson is an admission that the war against illegal drugs is failing.
It also showed 21 percent disagree while 30 percent were undecided about the matter.
On whether the Vice President had the right to view the list of high-value targets while she was in the post, about 60 percent agreed while 15 percent disagreed.
Robredo was appointed by President Rodrigo Duterte as ICAD co-chairperson in October last year.
But the President fired her after two weeks as a response to the opposition’s dare to remove her from the post due to lack of trust, Malacañang said.

Human rights abuses
Majority of those surveyed or 76 percent agree there have been many human rights abuses in the administration’s crackdown on illegal drugs, while 24 percent said there have been a few.
About 56 percent agree with the United Nations Human Rights Council’s (UNHRC) move to probe the supposed extrajudicial killings committed during the anti-illegal drugs campaign.
About 20 percent disagreed while 24 percent were undecided on the issue.
