MANILA, Philippines — Five drug suspects were arrested by the Caloocan police in separate buy-bust operations earlier this week, leading to the seizure of over P140,000 worth of illegal drugs.
In Barangay 178 on Monday night, found in the possession of Percy Alvarez, Christopher Cristobal and a 16-year-old girl were around 20 grams of suspected crystal meth, locally known as “shabu,” which was worth around P136,000, the police said.
The minor also yielded two more sachets of suspected shabu while a .22-caliber revolver with ammunition was seized from Alvarez.
Two more suspects were arrested on Tuesday on Don Antonio Street in Barangay 19, where the police seized a gram of shabu worth P6,800 from Amador Lagumay and Reymartin Santiago. Both were identified by authorities as alleged drug pushers.
The four suspects, excluding the minor, may face charges of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act (Republic Act No. 9165).
Under the law, suspects who use minors in the production and sale of illegal drugs could face up to 20 years in prison and a fine of up to P500,000.
