MANILA, Philippines — The Northeast Monsoon or Amihan and the continuous activity of Taal Volcano will bring cloudy skies with isolated rains over the provinces of Batangas and Cavite in the next 24 hours, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) reported.

In its 4 p.m. weather bulletin, Pagasa said the weather conditions may cause possible isolated thunderstorms in the vicinity of Taal volcano with reduced visibility during ashfall.

Cloudy skies with scattered rains are expected over Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, Bicol Region, Eastern Visayas, Aurora, and Quezon due to Amihan, Pagasa said.

Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains, with possible intermittent strong winds, especially in coastal and mountainous areas.

Localized thunderstorms are expected to bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers over the rest of the country.

The weather state bureau likewise reported that the low-pressure area (LPA) it is monitoring was last seen 150 kilometers east northeast of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur.

The LPA has a low chance of turning into a storm and will likely be dissolved within the next few hours, Pagasa noted.
