Leukemia girl needs your help

Jenny Contreras will turn 7 years old in February probably inside a hospital because she is undergoing a chemotherapy session due to leukemia.

Contreras’ stepmother, Rechelle Gonzaga, said that Contreras, whom she has considered as her own daughter after her real mother left her when she was only two years old, is now on the third phase of the therapy at the Philippine General Hospital.

“She will be under maintenance in the next four to five years. Every week we will be spending almost P10,000,” said Gonzaga who used to be a sales agent selling condo units but had stopped working to focus on Contreras, whose father, Reynaldo, is a construction worker.

She said she was calling on kind-hearted donors to help her stepdaughter for her financial needs so she can realize her dream of getting into school when she gets better.

“Doctors told us that she is very weak to stand school, so we don’t know… only God knows when is the right time for her to start studying,” Gonzaga said.

Gonzaga can be reached at 0930-5161345. Reynaldo’s bank account number in RCBC (Makati branch) is 1002120891.
