WATCH: PCG rescues dogs trapped in Talisay, Batangas
MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) on Wednesday rescued several dogs trapped in Batangas amid Taal Volcano’s unrest.
In a video posted at PCG’s official Twitter account, PCG personnel can be seen carrying the dogs during an evacuation conducted in Talisay, Batangas on Wednesday morning.

According to the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, Taal Volcano Island smelled of rotting animal corpses, but there were still scared dogs, horses, cows, and other animals on the are needed to be rescued.
The Coact Guard likewise patrolled the vicinity waters off Taal Lake to warn local fishermen against venturing off to sea.

Thousands of residents have been evacuated after authorities raised an Alert Level 4 in Taal Volcano which means that an “explosive eruption” is imminent. Alert Level 5 is the highest, indicating an eruption is taking place.

Taal has been restive for months until it suddenly rumbled back to life on Sunday afternoon, spewing a giant ash column into the sky after a phreatic eruption occurred in its main crater.
