Fire razes 60 houses in Davao City
DAVAO CITY –– A mid-day fire on Wednesday (June 15) razed 60 houses near the Bankerohan Public Market here.
Fire Inspector Richard Quiboquibo said the fire broke out past 11 a.m. in Purok 2 of Bankerohan Riverside, engulfing the area in thick black smoke.
An initial report from the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) showed that the blaze originated from a house where an electric fuse box exploded.
The flames easily spread to other structures due to strong winds, sending residents scampering to safety.
