Dizzy passenger falls on LRT-1 rails

'Low pressure' forces LRT-1 to unload passengers

MANILA, Philippines — A female passenger of Light Rail Transit-1 (LRT-1) fell on the rails on Wednesday, temporarily halting the train’s operations.

The incident happened around 6:45 a.m. at the Doroteo Jose Station after the passenger felt dizzy, said Jacqueline Gorospe, head of communications ng Light Rail Manila Corp. (LRMC).

The passenger was immediately brought to a hospital for observation.

Meanwhile, the incident led to the temporary closure of the line. Operations resumed at 7:09 a.m.

“As for the measures, we have platform security, signages and onground reminders from station personnel to ensure that it is safe for our passengers at the stations,” Gorospe said in a text message.
