Magnitude 4.1 quake hits Batangas on Tuesday afternoon

MANILA, Philippines — A magnitude 4.1 quake struck Calaca town in Batangas on Tuesday afternoon, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported.

Phivolcs said the quake was recorded at 4:36 p.m., with the epicenter located five kilometers northeast of Calaca town.

The quake which was of tectonic origin had a depth of 10 kilometers.

Phivolcs said no damage and aftershocks are expected following the quake.
