Pagasa sees cloudy skies, scattered rain showers in volcanic eruption-hit areas

MANILA, Philippines – The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) on Tuesday morning said that cloudy skies and scattered rain showers are expected in areas reeling from the ill-effects of Taal Volcano’s eruption. including Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon.

(In Cavite, Batangas, Laguna, and even in Quezon province, cloudy and dark skies with possible occasional rain showers may occur due to the volcanic activity.)

Meanwhile, the low pressure area (LPA) spotted 670 kilometers east northeast of Guian, Eastern Samar is not expected to intensify into a storm.

No weather disturbance is expected to affect the country in the next two to three days, but the tail end of a cold front will bring cloudy skies to the Visayas.

The northeast monsoon or “amihan,” meanwhile, is expected to bring cold weather to Northern Luzon and Cagayan Valley, while fair wether is expected in most parts of Mindanao.

(Because of the northeast monsoon’s effect, cloudy skies with sporadic rain showers will be experienced in the Cagayan Valley region, Cordillera Administrative Region, and the province of Aurora.)

(Here in Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon, fair weather is expected, although occasional rains due to localized thunderstorms may occur in the afternoon and at night.)
