MANILA, Philippines — Cloudy skies with isolated rains and thunderstorms are expected over the provinces of Batangas, Cavite, Laguna, and Quezon due to Taal’s volcanic activity.
The state weather bureau said this in its 4 p.m. weather update on Monday, even warning of possible reduced visibility and mudflow during ashfall and light to moderate rains in the affected provinces in the next 24 hours.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) also said a trough of low-pressure area (LPA) last spotted 755 kilometers east of Guiuan in Eastern Samar, will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms in Caraga and Eastern Visayas on Tuesday.
Cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms may be experienced in Cagayan Valley, the Cordillera Administrative Region, and Aurora due to the tail end of a cold front, Pagasa added.
The state weather bureau cautioned residents of possible flash floods or landslides due to scattered light to moderate to at times heavy rains in the affected areas.
Meanwhile, the northeast monsoon or amihan is forecast to bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains over the Ilocos Region, where possible intermittent strong winds, especially in coastal and mountainous areas, may occur.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country, on the other hand, will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms on Tuesday, Pagasa said.
The state weather bureau further said Northern Luzon will have moderate to strong northeast wind and moderate to rough (1.2 – 3.7 meters) coastal waters while the eastern sections of Visayas and Mindanao will have moderate northeast to northwest wind as well as moderate (1.2 – 2.5 meters) coastal waters.
As for the rest of the country, Pagasa said, light to moderate northeast to north wind and slight to moderate (0.6 to 2.1 meters) coastal waters will prevail.
