LUCENA CITY –– Philippine Air Force (PAF) and Philippine Navy (PN) personnel have also been dispatched to help Taal volcano eruption victims, a regional military spokesman said.

Colonel Dennis Cana, Armed Forces Southern Luzon Command (Solcom) public information officer, said aside from Army soldiers, the PAF and PN have also deployed their respective humanitarian assistance and disaster relief (HADR) units to help in the rescue and relocation of the victims to safer grounds.

“Our helicopters have also been dispatched and used for ocular and aerial reconnaissance and assessment,” Cana said.

Cana said the air assets have been placed on standby alert for any emergency, he added.

On Sunday, the Solcom deployed several HADR units composed of Army soldiers to areas affected by Taal volcano’s magmatic eruption in Batangas province and nearby areas.
