Suspected drug pusher slain in Camarines Sur buy-bust
LEGAZPI CITY — A suspected drug pusher was killed in a buy-bust operation in Iriga City in Camarines Sur province on Sunday night.
In a report, Police Colonel Roderico Roy Jr., Camarines Sur police chief, said the suspect Leman Olea, 33, drew his caliber .38 gun and shot at undercover policemen twice but misfired after sensing that he was in a drug buy-bust at around 11:40 p.m. in Barangay (village) San Francisco.
The authorities retaliated and hit the suspect in the different parts of the body, killing him instantly.
Recovered from the incident were six fired cartridge cases, three fired bullets, and two pieces heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing white crystalline substance suspected to be “shabu” (crystal meth). The suspect was included in the drugs watchlist.
In a separate anti-illegal drug operation in Barangay San Vicente in Bato town, also in Camarines Sur, Chris Cañeso, 31, of Barangay Mabalodlod of Tigaon town was caught while repacking shabu around 9:10 p.m.
Confiscated from the suspect were three small and one medium sized heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu.
