MANILA, Philippines — A magnitude 4.1 quake hit Batangas late Sunday night, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported.
Phivolcs said the quake was recorded at 11:56 p.m., with the epicenter located seven kilometers northeast of Agoncillo town in Batangas.
The quake which was of volcanic origin had a depth of eight kilometers.
Intensity V was reported in Tagaytay City.
No damage and aftershocks are expected following the quake.
Phivolcs has raised Alert Level 4 over Taal Volcano following a phreatic eruption on Sunday.
With alert level 4 raised, this means “hazardous explosive eruption is possible within hours to days,”
