MANILA, Philippines — The Food and Drug Administration (FDA)warns the public against purchasing and consuming some unregistered food products and food supplements being sold in the market.
According to an FDA advisory, it verified through postmarketing surveillance that the following had no certificates of product registration (CPRs): J & P Cakes and Pastries Mango Tart, My Chewy Milk Candy Durian Flavor, My Chewy Milk Candy Mango Flavor, Peanut Sugar Coated and Manhu The Life-Giving Bread Muffins sa CDO.
In another advisory, the FDA said that Nutrex Research Lip06 Black Hers Ultra Concentrate Extreme Fat Support, Lotte Super Refresh Power (Throat Candy Herb Flavor), Fitella Muesli Banana with Chocolate, Lenny”™s Bakeshop Dice Mocha (Jumbo) and JM Banaag Bakeshop Hopia also had no CPRs.
“Since these unregistered food products and food supplement have not gone through [the] evaluation process of the FDA, the agency cannot guarantee their quality and safety,” it added.
The FDA reminded establishments that the manufacture, importation, exportation, sale, offering for sale, distribution, transfer, nonconsumer use, promotion, advertising, or sponsorship of health products without the proper authorization were prohibited.
