MANILA, Philippines — Maguindanao 2nd District Representative Esmael “Toto” Mangudadatu on Saturday denounced the murder of a Commission on Audit (COA) auditor who was gunned down by unidentified motorcycle-riding gunmen in Cotabato City.
COA Maguindanao supervising auditor Guiara Bagundang Akmad was with her husband when the assailants killed her on Friday noon.
“I strongly denounce the treacherous killing of Guiaria Bagundang Akmad who, together with her husband, was gunned down yesterday morning in Cotabato City,” Mangudadatu said.
The representative then described Akmad as “a person of principle and integrity whose dedication and love for her family and work is beyond question.”
He added that her death serves as a “strong indication that the rise of violence and disorder is upon Maguindanao.”
“May the wrath of the Almighty Allah be at the heels of those who have the blood of Akmad in their hands,” Mangudadatu said.
