Fisherman nabbed in drug buy-bust in Catanduanes
LEGAZPI CITY, Philippines — A 56-year-old fisherman who is included in the national watch list of suspected drug personalities was arrested in a buy-bust in Gigmoto town in Catanduanes province on Friday evening, police said Saturday.
Police Colonel Florendo Abay, director of the Catanduanes police, said Danilo Alcantara Sr., a resident of Barangay (village) District 1 of the said town, was arrested at around 7:25 p.m.
Abay added that Alcantara was also included in the priority target list or provincial recalibrated top 10 illegal drug personalities.
Seized from the suspect were 22 small heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing white crystalline substance believed to be shabu (crystal meth).
