Pagasa: Low pressure area seen east of Mindanao
MANILA, Philippines — A low-pressure area (LPA) was spotted 1,595 kilometers east of Mindanao, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) reported on Friday afternoon.
The state weather bureau said the LPA is still outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) and has a low chance of developing into a storm in the coming days.
However, Pagasa said some parts of Luzon – specifically Cagayan Valley, Cordillera, Aurora, and Northern Quezon – will likely experience overcast skies and isolated rains on Saturday, January 11.
Meanwhile, generally fair weather with isolated light rains may be expected over the Bicol Region and the Visayas, the state weather bureau added.
As for Mindanao, Pagasa said isolated thunderstorms are possible in the region’s eastern portion on Saturday.
