SSS offers calamity loans to ‘Tisoy’ victims in Bicol

MANILA, Philippines — Social Security System (SSS) members and pensioners in Naga City and the provinces of Albay, Camarines Sur, Catanduanes, Masbate and Sorsogon, whose livelihood were affected by Typhoon “Tisoy” in December can also seek calamity assistance from the SSS, the state-run pension fund said on Thursday. “Affected members and pensioners may now avail themselves of the calamity loan and advance three-month pension for qualified pensioners until March 19, 2020. (They may also apply until December 2020) for the direct house repair and improvement loan,” SSS president and chief executive Aurora Ignacio said in a statement. —Ben O. de Vera
