ZAMBOANGA CITY—A cook at a foreign-owned school was found dead in its canteen on Thursday (Jan. 9) with multiple stab wounds and believed to be a victim of robbery.
Maj. Edwin Duco, Zamboanga City police spokesperson, said Elizabeth Castillo, 49, and resident of Guiwan village, was found lying in a pool of her own blood past 9 a.m. inside the canteen.
Castillo worked at one of the canteens of the Filipino-Turkish Tolerance School at the village of Sinunuc some 13 kilometers from her residence.
Duco said Castillo’s body bore multiple stab wounds.
Cpl. Thommerly Arab, police investigator, said robbery could have been the motive for the killing.
Castillo had been a long-time cook and canteen employee of the school which serves more than 500 students and employees.
