MANILA, Philippines – The Traslacion is proof that the devotion to the Black Nazarene cuts across age, gender, wealth, social status, and even location.

Authorities aim to make this year’s  Traslacion as one of the quickest and most peaceful in recent history.

Aside from being a religious affair of the Roman Catholic Church, some young people consider the Traslacion as a way to bond with their friends — with some groups even focusing on both brotherhood and devotion.

The youth also see the Traslacion as a way to express their relaxed side, gamely posing for photos and interviews whenever media personalities pass by.

Children also joined the procession with their parents who see the event as a chance to pass on a revered tradition.
