MANILA, Philippines — A magnitude 4.4 earthquake jolted Davao Occidental on Wednesday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
The quake struck at 12:11 p.m. at 50 kilometers southwest of Sarangani town.
Phivolcs said that the temblor was of tectonic origin, and had a 15-kilometer depth of focus.
According to Phivolcs, the quake was also felt in other areas at various intensities:
Reported Intensity II – Sarangani, Davao Occidental
Instrumental Intensity I – General Santos City; Malungon, Sarangani
No aftershocks or damage were expected, Phivolcs added.
