Son kills dad while defending his mom

A barangay official in Palani village in Balud, Masbate, is now being hunted by police after he allegedly killed his father just before midnight on December 27.

Senior Supt. Heriberto Olitoquit, Masbate acting police director, said on Sunday that Bernardito Bucala, 29, a councilman of Barangay Palani, shot dead his father Ramon, 55, past 11 p.m. while Ramon was having a fight with his wife, Bernardito’s mother.

Bernardito, according to Olitoquit, was prompted to defend his mother and shot his father with an unknown caliber of firearm when the fight between his father and mother turned violent.

Ramon suffered gunshot wounds in the body and was dead on the spot.
