2 nabbed with P420k worth of ‘shabu’
SAN PEDRO CITY -– Two suspected illegal drug dealers were arrested in a buy-bust operation in Gen. Trias City in Cavite province on Thursday evening, the police said Friday.
Authorities also recovered 62 grams or P420,000 worth of suspected “shabu” (crystal meth).
In a text message, Cavite police chief Col. Marlon Santos identified the suspects as Ronnie Mendoza, 42, and Carlito Paz II, 46, residents of Manila and Pasig City, respectively.
Santos said the suspects agreed to meet with undercover policemen in a sting operation in Barangay Manggahan around 9:30 p.m. on Thursday.
After the transaction, the police found on them 18 plastic more packs of the alleged drugs.
Santos said it was the biggest haul so far recovered in a simultaneous drug operation in Cavite from Thursday evening to early Friday.
Police recovered about 40 grams more in separate operations in Imus City, Silang, and Naic and arrested 14 other suspects within the same period./lzb
