MANILA, Philippines — A magnitude 3.3 earthquake struck Sultan Kudarat on Wednesday afternoon, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported.
Based on the initial earthquake bulletin, state seismologists said the earthquake hit 12 kilometers (kms) southeast of Lutayan, Sultan Kudarat at 4:03 p.m.
The tremor with tectonic origin had a depth of 31 kms, Phivolcs said.
The earthquake was felt at Intensity II in Bansalan, Davao del Sur, state seismologists said.
Phivolcs also reported that “Instrumental Intensities” from the earthquake was felt in Kidapawan City (Intensity II) and Intensity I in Tupi and Koronadal, South Cotabato and Malungon, Sarangani.
Phivolcs assured the public that no aftershocks and damage will be expected from the earthquake.
