MANILA, Philippines — The northeast monsoon or “amihan” will bring rains over extreme Northern Luzon while Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience fair weather, the state weather bureau said.
In its 5 a.m. weather update on Tuesday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said cloudy skies with light rains due to the northeast monsoon will prevail over the Cagayan Valley Region, Apayao, Kalinga, Mountain Province, and Ifugao.
Meanwhile, the Ilocos Region and the rest of the Cordillera Administrative Region will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains.
The easterlies, or the warm winds from the Pacific Ocean, will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms in Metro Manila and the rest of the country.
The state weather bureau added that Northern Luzon will have moderate to strong northeast wind with moderate to rough (1.2 to 3.4 meters) coastal waters.
The eastern sections of central and Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao meanwhile will have moderate to strong northeast wind and moderate to rough (1.2 to 2.8 meters) coastal waters.
The rest of the country will have light to moderate northeast wind and slight to moderate (0.6 to 2.1 meters) coastal waters, Pagasa said.
