Northern Luzon to experience rains due to northeast monsoon—Pagasa
MANILA, Philippines — The northeast monsoon or “amihan” will bring rains in Northern Luzon ahead of the New Year, the state weather bureau said Monday.
In is weather bulletin, Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Cagayan Valley and the provinces of Apayao, Kalinga, Mountain Province and Ifugao will have cloudy skies with scattered light rains.
Scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms will prevail over the provinces of Aurora and Quezon due to the northeast monsoon and the tail-end of a cold front, Pagasa said.
The northeast monsoon will also bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains over Ilocos Region and the rest of Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR).
Pagasa warned of possible gusty conditions in mountainous and coastal areas and possible isolated flooding or landslides during severe thunderstorms.
Meanwhile, the easterlies or wind from the east will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rains or thunderstorms in Metro Manila and the rest of the country.
