BREAKING: Bus falls in Sorsogon ravine

MANILA, Philippines – An Eagle Star bus headed for Guian in Eastern Samar fell off a ravine in Matnog town of Sorsogon on Monday noon.

The incident was confirmed by Police Maj. Malou Calobaquib of the Police Regional Office-V (PRO-5) who said that the bus, numbered 8186, was driven by a certain Felix Calipes.


Initial investigation showed that Calipes lost control upon reaching a sharp curve on the downhill lane.  No casualties were reported as of now, but several individuals sustained minor injuries.


All injured passengers were brought to the nearest hospital while Calipes is now with Matnog’s Municipal Police Station for disposition.

Photos from various netizens on social media showed the bus down the mountainous area of Matnog, stopped by several trunks of trees from totally descending on the mountain slopes.
