MANILA, Philippines — The Manila Police District’s Traffic Enforcement Unit (MPD-TEU) has announced the closure of some roads in Manila and the implementation of a traffic rerouting plan for the Black Nazarene Thanksgiving Procession on Monday (Dec. 30).
The following roads will be closed starting at 8:30 a.m. to give way for the Black Nazarene Thanksgiving procession:
- Southbound lane of Quezon Boulevard in Quiapo from A. Mendoza/Fugoso to Plaza Miranda
- España/P. Campa Lerma
- Eastbound lane of C.M. Recto from Rizal Avenue to SH Loyola Street
Motorists are advised to take these alternate routes instead:
- Vehicles coming from Quezon City using southbound lane of Espaha Avenue should turn right to P Campa Street then turn left to A. Mendoza St., right to Fugoso Street, turn left to Rizal Avenue to point of destination.
- All vehicles intending to use Quezon Boulevard coming from A. Mendoza Street should turn right to Fugoso, left to Rizal Avenue to point of destination.
- All vehicles using eastbound lane of CM Recto coming from Divisoria should turn left to Rizal Avenue to point of destination.
The annual Black Nazarene procession will be taking this route:
Plaza Miranda Left Quezon Boulevard. right CM Recto Ave.. right Loyola Street, right Bilibid Viejo Street, left Gil Puyat Street, left Z.F’ de Guzman Street, (Mendoza Street). right R. Hidalgo Street. left Quezon Boulevard through under Quezon Bridge through Palanca Street, right Villalobos Street, -Plaza Miranda
